NFL player Aaron Rodgers is now the quarterback for the New York Jets.

Last month, Rodgers said he planned to join the team, but the process took time. On Monday, the Green Bay Packers and Jets agreed to complete the trade.

ESPN’s Adam Schaefer reported that the deal involved the Jets giving the Packers the 13th (first round), 42nd (second round), and 207th (sixth round) overall picks in Thursday’s draft as well as a second-round pick in 2024. If Rodgers plays 65 percent of the Jets’ offensive snaps next season, it will become a first-round pick at next year’s draft.

The Jets will have the No. 15 pick (first round) and 170th pick (fifth round) in this week’s draft.

Rodgers, a four-time MVP who has donned the number 12 on his jersey, has chosen to wear his college football number (18) while playing for the Jets, despite Hall of Fame Jets quarterback Joe Namath who also wore the number 12, giving him his blessing.
