Kanye West is back in court, but this time, he’s countersuing his former manager for $900,000.

According to court documents, West is taking legal action against his former business manager, Thomas St. John. The lawsuit states that the Yeezy mogul is requesting $900,000 for a contract that was signed under duress.

West claims that he was experiencing sleep deprivation and stress due to his ongoing divorce from Kim Kardashian. As a result, he argued that he was not in an appropriate mental state to enter into any form of agreement.

“By 2022, Ye’s artistic and professional career took a turn for the worse as a result of his various antics and public statements. Ye needed guidance from a respected, sophisticated business manager who could right the ship and guide his career going forward,” the documents read.

In 2022, St. John filed a lawsuit against West for breaching their contract. He claimed that West failed to pay him the agreed-upon $300,000 per month to manage the Yeezy business.

As a result, St. John demanded the court to award him more than $4.5 million. The contract was meant to be valid for 18 months but was terminated suddenly after just three months, prompting St. John to file the lawsuit.
