A brazen broad day shooting in New York City sent pedestrians scrambling for cover on Saturday evening, resulting in two people getting taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Video obtained by the New York Post shows two men arguing in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood around 5:45 p.m.
“What? What? . . . Stop playin’, bro!” a man in a blue jacket can be heard saying.
A man in a black jacket walks outside the frame of the video, but when he comes back into view, he appears to have a gun in his hand. A flash emerges from the weapon’s muzzle, and a gunshot rings out.
Several people were walking by the two men arguing. The gunfire sent them scurrying for cover. A woman in the video covers her face and ducks down, a man with a suitcase crouches down in front of a Japanese restaurant, and others appear to run away.
The victim of the shooting was identified as 28-year-old Shaquille Bailey. He was brought to Mount Sinai West Hospital, where he was treated for gunshot wounds to the hip and shoulder.
A second person was transported to Mount Sinai by friends, but no details were given regarding their injuries. Their condition remains unknown.
The shooter fled the scene after the attack. No arrests have been made, and police are working to identify the shooter.
