Ne-Yo is looking to establish paternity for the children he shares with his former mistress.
The singer recently filed court documents seeking parental rights over his two youngest children. Per the court documents, Ne-Yo is pretty confident he’s the father of his oldest son with Sade Bagnerise but has doubts about their youngest son. In addition to confirming paternity, the “Because Of You” star wants joint legal and physical custody of the boys. If you recall, Ne-Yo was married to Crystal Smith when he fathered his first child, Braiden, with Bagnerise in 2021. Last February, the two welcomed another son, Brixton. This infidelity ultimately led to Smith filing for divorce after she and Ne-Yo briefly reconciled. Their divorce was finalized in February 2023, with a judge ordering Ne-Yo to pay Smith a $1.6 million settlement and $12,000 a month in child support.
In addition to custodial rights, the Grammy award winner would like a judge to establish child support and allow his children to inherit from him as his other children will. Ne-Yo shares three children with Smith and two with his previous fiance Monyetta Shaw.
It appears Bagnerise and Ne-Yo are at least great co-parents. She frequently shares images of herself and Ne-Yo on her social media profile, though he maintains he is enjoying the single life. Ne-Yo’s love life has been checkered for years. There have been multiple accusations of the singer asking Shaw to tie her tubes before moving on to Smith and having more children. Additionally, rumors swirled that the 43-year-old cheated on Shaw with Smith.
Nevertheless, it appears all parties involved have moved forward and are happy with the current state of affairs. Shaw has gotten her peach on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Smith frequently spreads messages of positivity on Instagram, and Bagnerise seems to be enjoying the perks of having children by a millionaire. In the words of Drake and Future, life is good.
