Certain Advil products are being recalled by Family Dollar due to improper storage temperatures at some of its locations.
According to a notice by the FDA on Thursday, Family Dollar stored the Advil bottles “outside of labeled temperature requirements.” The drugmaker’s website indicates that Ibuprofen, which is commonly sold as Advil, should be stored at a temperature between 68 degrees and 77 degrees.
The notice did not provide information on the number of stores that would remove the affected products from their shelves, the locations of these stores, or the quantity of products being recalled. However, it did state products that were impacted were sent to the discount chain’s stores between June 1, 2022, and March 31, 2023.
Nevertheless, there hasn’t been any reports by Family Dollar of any consumer complaints or illnesses related to the products that are being recalled. But says the recall is for the following Advil formulations: 0901458 ADVIL 200MG TABLET 100CT, 0901839 ADVIL 200 MG CAPLET 24 CT, 0902867 ADVIL DUAL ACTION 36CT CAPLET, 0913023 ADVIL TABLET 50CT, 0916071 ADVIL LIQUID GEL 40 CT, 0999259 ADVIL TABLET 6CT, and 0999841 ADVIL LIQUI GEL MINIS 20CT.
In case of any inquiries regarding the recall, consumers can contact Family Dollar Customer Service at 844-636-7687, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern time. The FDA advises consumers to seek medical assistance from their physician or healthcare provider if they have encountered any issues that may be linked to the usage of these products.
