Ah. It’s almost that time again. A time where my Facebook newsfeed will be filled with post emphasizing that Father’s Day is for REAL fathers. It will overflow with women celebrating the day and posting statuses to let us all know how they hold it down and play both roles. They will remind us that the father of their children is a deadbeat who doesn’t take of his children but takes care of his current girl’s kids who are not even his. They will rant about all the things they’ve paid for through the year with no help from their children’s dad and try to convince everyone that they are fathers too. Wait, so it’s NOT just for REAL fathers? *face palms*
There are some incredibly awesome mommies out there but no matter how wonderful you are, you are not the father. You do not need Maury to tell you that. I tip my wig to single mothers (what? I’m not wearing a hat!) you all are super but you aren’t superhuman. Going the extra mile doesn’t make you a father but it does make you a wonderful mom. You aren’t two people.. of opposite sexes.. and that is okay! I salute you daily and show extra Love on your special day in May but this here? Chile. It does not slip by me that this card is part of the Mahogany line either. Hmmmm.
