In the wake of Kourtney Kardashians pregnancy announcement I have noticed that people women have mouthfuls to say about the status of her relationship with Scott Disick. “He needs to marry her already!” “Why doesn’t she make him marry her?” “Oh, so he can make babies but not make her his wife?” Umkay kids, first, you do not MAKE someone marry you. Ever. K? Those who keep up with the Kardashians know that Scott has expressed on numerous occasions that he wants to marry Kourtney but she is the one who does not want to wed. Shortly after the world learned of her second pregnancy, Kourtney revealed that she has no plans of marrying her long time Love Scott Disick. She explained that they share a lovely partnership that she intends to continue but she has ‘commitment issues’ that prevent her from marrying him. Why is it assumed that the reason they aren’t married is because he doesn’t want to make her a wife? Why is nobody saying “She needs to put a ring on it already! She’s using him for his man juice but won’t make him a husband!” Why is it that in 2014 we are measuring a woman’s worth by a man’s willingness to marry her? We’ve watched enough Kardashian weddings to know that exchanging vows isn’t always worth your while. Maybe she doesn’t want to fix what’s not broken. Their thing is their thing and it works for them.
I know this may shock a few of you but not everyone wants to be married. Some people do have beautiful, Loving and lasting relationships and raise happy, healthy babies without ever marrying. *gasp* What are your relationship goals? Can you be committed to and raise children with someone who is not interested in marriage? Would you think something is ‘wrong’ with you if your significant other hasn’t proposed after a few years and would you leave them if they didn’t?
