Cardi B denies shading Ice Spice during her Hot 97 Summer Jam performance.
Over the weekend, Cardi took the stage at the annual festival, which was held in the UBS Arena in Chicago. During her set, the Bronx rapper played “Tomorrow” from the film “Annie,” with images of the character twerking. The performance was supposed to be a segway into hit Glorilla’s hit single “Tomorrow 2,” which Cardi is featured on. However, many fans speculated that Cardi was shading her fellow Bronx rapper Ice Spice with the image of “Annie.”
“Cardi b shading ice spice for absolutely no reason smfh…. She knows ice spice is about to take her spot. the insecurities jumped out,” one Twitter user wrote.
“Cardi b putting a caricature of ice spice on her set in the same outfit she wore on a ig story when she was rapping tomorrow 2 and singing annie before transitioning into tomorrow 2… shading a girl that showed nothing but love to you,” another added.

Following her performance, Cardi went live on Instagram to address the rumors and, although not directly referring to Ice Spice, she disregarded any talk about her show.
“For y’all motherf*ckers that’s on Twitter tryna be messy, please, cut the bullsh*t,” Cardi said on Instagram Live. “I don’t — that’s not me, like come on now. First of all, y’all been wanting me to be messy all things. Y’all wanted me to be messy on the song, y’all wanted me to — nah, come on now. Cut the bullsh*t, please. Get the mop. Y’all being too messy and y’all being annoying.”
She added, “Cut the bullsh*t, please. Get the mop. Y’all being too messy and y’all being annoying.”
Despite the rumors, Cardi has shown support to Ice Spice and even mentioned her breakout song “Munch” in her single with Glorilla.
She say she don’t f*ck with me (who?), who said that you can, ho? (No)/ That n*gga a munch and he gon’ eat me like a mango,” she rapped.
