Miami Heat Mascot Sent To ER After Taking Punches From Conor McGregor (Video)

Former UFC fighter Conor McGregor briefly sent the Miami Heat mascot to the hospital after a promotional stunt in the third quarter went awry on Friday night.

The individual inside the Heat mascot suit, known as Burnie, was transported to a local hospital’s emergency room after enduring two punches from McGregor.  Following medical treatment, Burnie was released with prescribed pain medication.

McGregor, who was seated courtside while promoting a pain relief spray, engaged in a face-off with Burnie, who was adorned in boxing gloves and a robe.  With a forceful left hook, the 34-year-old McGregor sent the mascot tumbling to the ground.  While Burnie remained down, McGregor landed another punch.

Members of the Heat’s in-game promotional team swiftly intervened and removed Burnie from the scene; all the while McGregor continued to spray him with the pain relief spray.

McGregor’s most recent fight took place in July 2021, during which he suffered a leg injury in the first round against Dustin Poirier.

Regarding the game’s outcome, the Miami Heat faced a 108-95 defeat against the Denver Nuggets. With the series now at 3-1 in favor of Denver, the next game will be held in Denver on Monday, offering the Nuggets an opportunity to secure their first NBA championship.
