Police in Syracuse, New York, have reported that at least 13 people were injured during a large block party early Sunday.
Officers were alerted to the incident through reports of gunfire shortly after midnight. Upon their arrival at the scene, they encountered a crowd consisting of hundreds of people.
USA Today reported that some of the party-goers had been shot, stabbed, or struck by vehicles as drivers fled the scene, according to the police.
The police confirmed that at least four individuals were shot, five were stabbed, and four were hit by vehicles.
The victims encompass both males and females in their teens and early 20s. Syracuse Police Lt. Matthew Malinowski stated that all the victims are expected to survive.
Lt. Malinowski also noted that the investigation is complex and remains active and ongoing.
