Nicki Minaj Becomes Subject Of Swatting Prank, Caller Reported Child Abuse, Fire At Her Home

Nicki Minaj recently fell victim to a swatting prank.  It has been reported that an unidentified individual falsely informed authorities about alleged child abuse involving the rapper’s two-year-old son and also claimed that her house was ablaze.

TMZ, citing law enforcement sources, stated that the swatting attempt occurred earlier this month.  Child services were misled by an anonymous tip, which alleged child abuse at Nicki Minaj’s residence in the Los Angeles area.

Police officers were dispatched to the star’s home, where they interviewed both Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty.  After conducting a thorough check, they ascertained that the allegations were baseless, as Minaj’s child exhibited no signs of abuse, according to the New York Post.

Just a few hours later, the authorities received another call through 911, alleging that Minaj’s house was engulfed in flames.

The second call was quickly determined to be another attempt at swatting.  Despite this, Minaj reportedly engaged legal counsel to pursue those responsible for the pranks.

Swatting refers to the act of deliberately making false reports to law enforcement or emergency services in order to trigger a large-scale response, sometimes involving a SWAT team, to a particular location.

Authorities continue to urge the public against engaging in swatting, emphasizing that it squanders valuable time and resources that could otherwise be deployed more constructively.
