Tory Lanez will have to sit tight once again to learn his fate. The Canadian singer’s sentencing was delayed again.
A little over five months ago, the disgraced singer was convicted of shooting rapper Megan Thee Stallion. Originally his sentencing was to take place Tuesday, but his legal team requested it be delayed. The attorneys have until August 1 to submit their sentencing recommendations.
His sentencing hearing has been reset for August 7, Forbes reported.
Prosecutors have recommended Lanez be sentenced to 13 years in state prison.
In December, the singer, who is formally known as Daystar Peterson, was convicted on three felony charges related to the shooting of Stallion, including assault with a semiautomatic handgun, carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
Lanez’s sentencing has been delayed several times after he obtained new attorneys and filed a motion for a new trial, which was denied last month. He faces up to 22 years and eight months in prison.
