Senators Sports & Entertainment announced on Tuesday that Snoop Dogg would not be a part of the purchase agreement for the Ottawa Senators NHL team.
According to the organization, Toronto-based billionaire Michael Andlauer, 57, will take over ownership of the Senators. He will have 90% control of the organization and “operational control” of the team.
ESPN claims that his acquisition of the team is the most expensive in NHL history at roughly $1 billion.
In addition, the Melynk Estate, run by Anna and Olivia Melnyk, whose father, Eugene Melnyk, presided over the Senators until his passing in May 2022, will retain a 10% stake in the team.
Andlauer will “assume control” of the team’s activities after the NHL accepts the arrangement and the sale is completed.
Earlier this year, Snoop announced to social media that he partnered with Los Angeles-based businessman Neko Sparks in a bid to buy the hockey franchise.
