Whoopi Goldberg has revealed that she would like to be the new host of the Wheel of Fortune.
During Tuesday’s episode of The View, the EGOT winner threw herself into the running as the next host after Pat Sajak announced his retirement after 41 years on the show.
The news came shortly after her co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin mentioned, “Another legendary game show host, Pat Sajak, just announced that he’s going to be retiring from Wheel of Fortune at the end of next season.”
She then questioned Ken Jennings, the host of Jeopardy!, “What’s your reaction to the news? And any ideas on who should replace him?”
Before Jennings could respond, she said with excitement, “I want that job! I think it’d be lots of fun.”
Goldberg, a familiar face to ABC, already has hosting game show experience as the center square on Hollywood Squares from 1998 to 2004.
