New England Patriots cornerback Jack Jones was arrested after two guns were discovered in his bag at Logan Airport on Friday.Â
According to Massachusetts State Police, Jones was charged with possession of a concealed weapon in a secure area of the airport, possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card, unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, and possession of a large-capacity feeding device.
The 25-year-old will be arranged next week in East Boston District Court and was released on $50,000 bail.Â
“We have been notified that Jack Jones was arrested at Logan Airport earlier today,” a spokesperson for the Patriots told the Boston Globe. “We are in the process of gathering more information and will not be commenting further at this time.”
Jones was a fourth-round pick out of Arizona State in the 2022 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, he had 30 tackles, two interceptions, and a touchdown.Â
His rookie season ended early after he violated club rules and was handed a two-game suspension. Coach Bill Belichick indicated that the suspension was behind them and Jones was “working his way back in there.”
