A tragic incident unfolded on Thursday around 11:20 a.m., when Samya Gill, a pregnant model, and the father of her unborn child were seated inside their car. In a horrifying turn of events, two gunmen in a separate vehicle pulled up alongside them, swiftly exited, and unleashed a hail of bullets. Samya Gill, who was eight months pregnant, and the father of her unborn child were sitting in the parked car on 37thStreet SE in Washington DC.
Despite the harrowing attack, Gill’s partner managed to drive away from the scene, bringing the bullet-riddled car to a bustling intersection approximately a mile away. With urgency, Gill was immediately transported to a nearby hospital where, in a bittersweet moment, she gave birth to her baby via a cesarean section. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after the delivery. The newborn, reported to be in critical condition, now faces an uncertain battle for survival while the father receives treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
“This is truly devastating for my family and presents a significant financial burden. We humbly ask for any donations you can offer; no amount is too big or too small,” reads a plea on Gill’s GoFundMe fundraiser.
Authorities firmly believe that the incident was a targeted attack and have launched an investigation into the matter. To aid in their efforts, a reward of $25,000 is being offered to anyone who possesses information that can lead to the arrest and conviction of the suspects involved.
