Former NFL pro Deion Sanders must undergo potentially life-saving surgery on Friday to relieve blood clots located in his groin area.
The shocking news arrived just days after Sanders was faced with the possibility of a foot amputation after dealing with complications from foot surgery. Adam “Pacman” Jones revealed the news of his friend’s operation during a recent episode of “The Pat McAfee Show.” When Sanders told Jones his latest update, the former baller himself had a hilarious response to such a serious matter.
“I said, ‘Man, I hope they don’t have to cut off your d**k.’ That’s what I told him,” Jones shared.
Last year, the former Jackson State University coach revealed that he’d been forced to have two of his toes removed due to blood clots. Before transferring to the University of Colorado, he was often seen on the sidelines using a scooter during the HBCU’s games. Sadly, he is dealing with the same issue yet again.
Sanders also shared news of his surgery on Instagram. He explained that while doing a follow-up doctor visit after the one seen during an episode of “Thee Pregame Show,” he was informed that there were clots in each of his legs, one of which was high up in his thigh. The Hall-of-Famer said physicians would be going in to remove the blood clots so that he could have proper blood flow to his feet. Once that happens, he may undergo another surgery to straighten out his “hammer toes. The 55-year-old expressed gratitude for the many prayers and well-wishes he has received since the news broke of his condition. However, Coach Sanders appears to be in good spirits about the procedure.
