On Monday, Drake was given the key to Shelby County in Memphis.
The Toronto rapper received the honor after frequently mentioning the 901 in his songs.
During his childhood, Drizzy spent most of his summers there with his father, Dennis Graham, a Memphis native.
Shelby County Commissioner Mickell Lowery told the rapper, “We love our own. Memphis music touches the world. You got a lot of Memphis blood in you and you’re definitely touching the world.”
He thanked Drake for “putting Memphis all in your music on the map,” adding, “This one should be close to your heart because it’s from 901.”
According to Lowery, the county only bestows such honors on “our own that we love dearly.”
