6-Year-Old Boy Falls 40 Feet From Zipline At Mexican Theme Park, Family Plans Lawsuit [Video]

A 6-year-old boy is recovering after falling 40 feet when his zipline harness broke at a Mexican amusement park, and the harrowing moment was caught on video. 

The footage shows the boy, named Cesar, moving along the zipline with an adult at the Parque Foundation’s Amazonian Expedition in Nuevo León on Sunday. The two come to a stop before the boy’s harness breaks, and he freefalls 40 feet into an artificial pool. 

Thankfully, a tourist jumped into the pool and pulled the child to safety. The boy’s brother told Fox News that he suffered no severe injuries in the fall but is “psychologically damaged” and “afraid.”

The family is blaming the incident on poor training of the park’s staff and plans to file a lawsuit against the attraction’s operator and the park. 

According to authorities, the zipline attraction is operated by an individual within Parque Amazonia. 

Following the incident, several attractions at the park were suspended by a government agency. A government investigation into the fall is ongoing.
