A 37-year-old woman is facing a murder charge after a toddler she was babysitting earlier this year died in her care.
Police say she has injured at least one other child., the New York Post reported.
Heather Lyn Greenman was arrested on June 29 and charged with one count each of first-degree murder, child abuse, and child abuse resulting in death.
The woman’s arrest came over two months after the Riverside County Coroner’s Office informed authorities of the suspicious death of the 15-month-old child that suffered a fatal injury in her care, the Beaumont Police Department stated.
The April 26 incident occurred at Greenman’s home. She call 911 claiming the toddler “had fallen down while running.”
The toddler was transported to the hospital with head swelling and brain bleeding. The toddler later succumbed to the injuries.
An extensive investigation was launched and authorities uncovered a similar incident with another toddler who allegedly “suffered from several serious injuries” while in Greenman’s care, however, the incident was not reported.
“That child was also taken care of at the family’s home in the City of Beaumont, but was not hospitalized at the time,” the police statement said of the potential second victim.
Authorities believe there may be additional victims and urge the public to come forward.
“We are looking for anyone who may have utilized her as a babysitter and maybe their child had some unexplained injuries and they didn’t think too much of it until her arrest,” Beaumont Police spokesperson Marcedes Cashmer told PEOPLE.
Greenman is held on a $1 million bail and is scheduled to appear back in court on August 17.
