RZA Reacts To Rihanna And A$AP Rocky Naming Their Son After Him: ‘It’s An Honor’

The RZA reacted to being the namesake of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s son, calling it a “great honor.”

RZA, born Robert Fitzgerald Diggs, sat down with CNN on Thursday to discuss a wide range of topics, including how he felt about Riri and Rocky naming their son after him. 

The Wu-Tang Clan member said it’s “a great honor to know that there’s another generation that’s not even of my own household that feels the strength and the inspiration of that name.”

“RZA is only a name; it’s a title,” he added. “So it’s an honor, and I salute her and A$AP and their family. All the blessings in the world from me.”

The younger RZA was born on May 13, 2022, but his name wasn’t announced until about a year later. Rocky took to Instagram to celebrate his firstborn’s milestone first birthday, revealing his name to be RZA.

“WU TANG IZ 4 DA CHUREN.” HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY TO MY 1st BORN. RZA,” he captioned the post.

Rihanna is currently pregnant with the couple’s second child. She announced that baby #2 was on the way during her Super Bowl Half-Time performance in February. So far, her due date and the baby’s sex have been kept under wraps.
