Lil Durk is recovering after spending a week in the hospital for dehydration and exhaustion, though some sources have pointed to more serious issues.
The “Back Door” rapper got sick while in Ohio on July 6th, TMZ reports. The situation was so dire that he was forced to check himself into a local hospital. That is when doctors determined that he was far too ill to leave. Hip-Hop Lately reported the serious matter that medical professionals discovered was actually heart problems.
Due to his treatment, the 30-year-old missed the ESPY Awards and several European performances. Thankfully, he was released from the hospital on Wednesday, though he is still not well enough to return to work. However, Durkio did speak with TMZ Hip-Hop personally to reassure his supporters that he was going to bounce back soon.
“I was looking forward to touching all of my European fans, performing this week(end), attending the ESPYs, and more,” he said in a statement to the outlet. He explained that his hectic schedule and constant traveling are what led to his dehydration, though he did not address the supposed heart condition.
This is just the latest medical emergency that Durk has suffered on the road. Back in July 2022, a pyrotechnic hit him in the face as he was performing at Lollapalooza, leaving him with slight injuries. For a short time, he wore an eye mask but appeared to have fully recovered from that mishap. Now, the Chicago star is once again taking time away from the spotlight to fully recover.
