Authorities have arrested a woman they believe is directly tied to the overdose death of Robert De Niro’s grandson, Leandro De Niro Rodriguez.
TMZ has learned that federal agents are now involved in the vase.
Law enforcement sources told the outlet that 20-year-old Sofia H. Marks was arrested Thursday in NYC by a joint NYPD and federal task force. They believe she sold drugs to Leandro before his death.
She is charged with three counts of distribution of narcotics, the source revealed and “is expected to make an application for bail in the future,” according to a source who spoke with PEOPLE.
Last week, Leandro’s mother said his death was due to a fentanyl overdose.
Marks trial is scheduled for August 14.
Leandro, 19, was found deceased inside his apartment on July 2 and it’s being investigated as an overdose.
