It appears that Beyoncé has taken the opportunity to address the recent controversy with Erykah Badu during her Renaissance tour in Massachusetts.
Earlier this week, Badu called out the Queen B for taking her style. “Hmm. I guess I’m everyone’s stylist. My favorite chrome mirror hat,” Badu said after seeing Bey in one of her tour outfits.
Days later, in a video shared by an RWT attendee, it appeared Bey took the time to respond by changing the lyrics to “Break My Soul (The Queens Remix).”
During the song, she usually sings “Badu, Lizzo, Kelly Rowland.” However, in this particular instance, she only sang “Badu, Badu, Badu, Badu.”
By doing this, she paid tribute to Badu and omitted Lizzo from the song. Many believed Bey also used the opportunity to purposely leave Lizzo’s name out due to recent allegations against her.
Lizzo is presently facing a lawsuit from three dancers who accused her of sexual harassment, body shaming, and a range of other transgressions. However, the “Truth Hurts” singer was not the only name omitted that night.
In the meantime, the true intent behind Beyoncé’s actions remains unclear.
