More women are speaking out about Lizzo’s questionable behavior. Her former documentarian, Sophia Nahli Allison, is the latest to enter the chat.
The filmmaker took to her Instagram on Tuesday to add her two cents to the flurry of accusations against the singer. According to Allison, she was summoned to work on Lizzo’s documentary in 2019. As the director of the film, Allison detailed being treated so poorly that she was forced to resign after just two weeks.
“I witnessed how arrogant, self-centered, and unkind she is. I was not protected and was thrown into a sh***y situation with little support. My spirit said to run as fast as you f*****g can, and I’m so grateful I trusted my gut,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.
While she did not go into detail about the treatment she faced at the hands of the Grammy award-winning singer, Allison did share that she felt compelled to tell her account after hearing the many tales brought forth by Lizzo’s former backup dancers, Crystal Williams, Arianna Davis, and Noelle Rodriguez.
The women joined Lizzo on her “The Special Tour” and claimed they were frequently placed in hostile situations. They shared that Lizzo subjected them to body shaming and even sexual harassment when she took them to a nude show in Amsterdam. There, she reportedly forced the women to touch the naked bodies of the performers and even encouraged them to eat a banana from the vagina of one adult entertainer.
Allison did not share any sexual misconduct but did express that other people she’d spoken to in private shared similar accounts about their interactions with Lizzo. As of Wednesday, the “Truth Hurts” star has not responded to the mounting allegations against her.
