Minor League Baseball Team Pulls T-Shirt Design For Resembling Racial Slur

A minor league baseball team has pulled a t-shirt from its website after catching flack on the X app, formerly known as Twitter, for strongly resembling a racial slur.

The Chattanooga Lookouts shirt featured the word “Nooga,” which is short for Chattanooga. The team’s logo of two eyes replaced the double “o” in the graphic.

The logo definitely makes you do a doubletake. What was the team thinking?

“Hilariously bad,” one X user wrote.

“It’s a tremendous logo they just really needed to shrink them to look more like Os here lol,” another user suggested.

The Nike-branded shirt is no longer available on the team’s website. But, News Channel 9 reported that an Internet Archive listing of the team’s site shows the design for sale as recently as July 23.

Even though the design was removed from the Lookout’s site, other clothing retailers have begun using it for their own use. The logo can be found for sale on multiple websites.
