By now, you may have seen the video of a massive brawl going down at a boat dock in Alabama.
The video captures a group of people fighting at the Montgomery Riverfront on Saturday. Authorities have since confirmed multiple people involved were arrested.
Montgomery police say they were called around 7 p.m. to respond to the 200 block of Coosa Street about a disturbance.
When they arrived on scene, a large group of people were in a physical altercation, WSFA News reported.
Circulating videos show the group fighting on the actual dock. Eyewitnesses say it started because a pontoon boat was blocking the dock where a riverboat was trying to park.
A WSFA 12 News crew at the scene saw people in handcuffs.
On Sunday, Montgomery police said the incident is under investigation.
Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed released a statement Sunday afternoon:
Last night, the Montgomery Police Department acted swiftly to detain several reckless individuals for attacking a man who was doing his job. Warrants are being signed and justice will be served.
This was an unfortunate incident which never should have occurred. As our police department investigates these intolerable actions, we should not become desensitized to violence of any kind in our community. Those who choose violent actions will be held accountable by our criminal justice system.
