Usher is finally addressing the drama that occurred at his Usher: My Way Las Vegas residency between Keke Palmer and her boyfriend, Darius Jackson.
During the show, Usher invited Palmer on stage, where he serenaded her while singing his hit “There Goes My Baby.”
When a clip of the serenade surfaced, Jackson called out Keke for wearing an inappropriate outfit to the show.
“It’s the outfit tho… you a mom,” he said.
After this sparked much controversy online, Usher claims fans started labeling him as a “domestic terrorist,” adding that “The internet is crazy. You can’t beat the internet.”
“I think everybody’s vision or a version of what they felt happened there just leads you back to just really having a good time in Las Vegas,” Usher told People. “And that’s what I hope came out of it. Rather, it was a conversation of what was going on with us having fun in front of the audience or conversation about that song.”
As seen from his past shows, Usher regularly invites celebrities and guests on stage to get a reaction from the audience.
“Every night, I’m thinking about how the world now is going to react to this moment that I’ll have with whoever I’m choosing to sing to,” he shared. “But it was a pop moment, and it was fun to have at least conversation going, and we just keep it light. I don’t see anything negative happening in Las Vegas.”
