Influencer Lil Tay & Her Big Brother Have Both Passed Away

The controversy surrounding rapper and influencer Lil Tay has taken a tragic turn, with her family announcing that she and her brother have passed away.

Tay has been absent from social media for some time after a string of wild allegations that included familial abuse and exploitation. In her short life, she’d collaborated with Chief Keef and XXXTentacion. Tay attracted a large online following who gloated over her videos showcasing stacks of cash and her big personality. Sadly, the 14-year-old has mysteriously died without having experienced the full potential of her fame. In a statement shared to her Instagram on Wednesday, the family stated that there were “no words to express the unbearable loss and indescribable pain.” It was also confirmed that her 21-year-old brother, Jason Tian, had died along with her.

Ironically enough, Jason had previously been accused of coaching his sister into some of her viral stunts. He’d also launched a GoFundMe in 2021, claiming he was seeking donations for legal representation to help her mother, Angela Tian, regain custody of her. It’s unclear if that ever happened. Jason slammed Tay’s father, Christopher Hope, arguing that he was actually the one taking advantage of the child and stealing from her. It doesn’t appear that the siblings shared the same father, but Tay had shared similar sentiments about her dad. The teen, whose real name is Claire Hope, had posted a video years ago accusing Christopher of being mentally and physically abusive towards her.

After news of her death was announced, fans quickly turned to social media sleuths, side-eyeing the sketchy family. For now, the deaths remain under investigation.
