FBI agents killed a Utah man Wednesday during an attempted arrest after the man allegedly made online threats against President Biden ahead of his trip to the state.

The man, Craig Robertson, was shot and killed while special agents were serving a warrant at his Provo home, officials said.

The investigation into Robertson dates back to April when the man suggested he was making plans to take physical action against the President and other officials, including New York prosecutor Alvin Bragg, New York Attorney General Letitia James, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland and California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Robertson said he had “intent to kill, at a minimum, D.A. Bragg and President Joe Biden,” according to the charging documents. Some of his most recent threats came just ahead of Biden’s planned trip to Utah on Wednesday evening.

“I HEAR BIDEN IS COMING TO UTAH,” one threat read, according to prosecutors. “DIGGING OUT MY OLD GHILLE SUIT AND CLEANING THE DUST OFF THE M24 SNIPER RIFLE. WELCOM, BUFFOON-IN-CHIEF!”

And in a social media post Monday, he said, “Hey FBI, you still monitoring my social media? Checking so I can be sure to have a loaded gun handy in case you drop by again.

Robertson was facing three federal charges, which included threats against the president as well as influencing, impeding and retaliating against federal law enforcement officers by threat.
