There’s been some discourse about newer artists canceling shows due to low ticket sales while legacy acts have been selling out events. It’s a strange phenomenon in hip-hop considering the agist attitudes of the genre’s fans.
On Saturday, OG rapper Ice-T took to X to shout out fellow legends on their success in selling out arenas.
“From what I’ve noticed..,” the Law & Order SVU actor wrote. “Classic HipHop is selling out Arenas world wide! NAS, WuTang, 50cent, LL, Snoop, IceCube.”

Ice-T added, “Our fans are showing up and having a blast!! It’s a great feeling. Respect to the OGs! We’re not done…”
Meanwhile, newer acts are finding as much success at the arena level. Lil Baby was forced to cancel several dates on his ‘It’s Only Us’ tour. Moneybagg Yo canceled shows in Orlando and Philadelphia earlier this month due to low ticket sales.
