Diddy recently handed over a large donation to Jackson State University.
The music executive traveled to the Mississippi HBCU for the Tigers’ season-opener against South Carolina State. He then donated $1 million to the JSU Development Foundation, Inc. as a way to show appreciation and support to HBCUs, Saturday Down South reported.
Combs made good on the promise he made during an acceptance speech at the 2022 BET Awards when he said he would donate money to the school even after coach Deion Sanders left.
“If it wasn’t for HBCUs I wouldn’t be here. … Supporting HBCUs isn’t just my honor, it’s my responsibility,” explained Combs. Combs attended Howard University, another HBCU, before making it in the music industry.
