Bronny James has returned to school after experiencing cardiac arrest last month during a basketball workout at the University of Southern California.
According to USC’s head coach Andy Enfield, the 18-year-old son of LeBron James is “doing extremely well” and is also “hopeful” about returning to the basketball court.
“The good thing is he’s doing extremely well and he’s in class right now. And we all love him,” Enfield said. “I think everybody is hopeful that Bronny will return to the court. We just have to be patient and take it step by step.”
On Friday, it was revealed that Bronny’s health scare was seemingly caused by “an anatomically and functionally significant Congenital Heart Defect.” The family emphasized that his condition is treatable and will be addressed accordingly.
Last month, Bronny was hospitalized for two days due to a cardiac arrest while exercising with USC teammates.
His father, the NBA’s leading scorer, stated that the James family was in good spirits after Bronny’s hospital discharge.
“We have our family together, safe and healthy, and we feel your love,” James said. “Will have more to say when we’re ready, but I wanted to tell everyone how much your support has meant to all of us!”
