Hugh Hefner‘s widow, Crystal Hefner, revealed that the Playboy creator went deaf in one ear due to excessive Viagra use before he died.

The former Playboy model opened up about her late husband’s loss of hearing in her upcoming memoir, Only Say Good Things.

“Hef always said he’d rather be deaf and still able to have sex,” she wrote.  “Weird.”

According to the National Library of Medicine, excessive use of Viagra may lead to hearing loss in one or both ears.

A 2010 study also noted a possible twofold rise in hearing loss risk due to Viagra and similar medications for erectile dysfunction.

Crystal met Hefner at 21 when he was 81.  Their first night together, according to her, was uneventful.

“Whatever you would like, whatever you would think, or however you would want a night to go, well, it wasn’t that,” she said.

Despite their unremarkable first night and Crystal’s claims of Hefner’s control, she paid tribute to the Playboy founder, who died at 91 from cardiac arrest during an E. coli battle in 2017.

“I will feel eternally grateful to have been by his side, holding his hand and telling him how much I love him.”

Her book, Only Say Good Things, is set to arrive in stores in January 2024.
