Zendaya is ready to step into her evil era.

The actress, best known for roles in “Euphoria,” “Spiderman,” and “Malcolm and Marie,” to name a few, says she is looking forward to expanding her illustrious resume. This will include roles where she portrays an antagonist.

“Tap into the evil, supervillain vibes. I feel like I usually play the good guy, so I’d like to play the bad guy,” the 26-year-old shared in her recent interview with Elle’s “Ask Me Anything” segment as part of her cover story for their September issue. She explained that the villain role doesn’t necessarily have to be a superhero but could be an evildoer in the “emotional sense.”

This is not Zendaya’s first time expressing her desire to branch out. She has previously expressed her desire to direct movies as she is keen to work behind the camera. Having been in over twenty films throughout her career, she notes filmmaking as being on her bucket list, though she has apprehensions about it.

“The first step to actually doing something yourself is not an easy step to take, so hopefully, I can get over the fear,” she revealed.

Elsewhere in the interview, the actress also dished on her first major purchase. It wasn’t a mansion or a fancy car, much to the surprise of some. It was, in fact, a mini Louis Vuitton handbag that she purchased while working for Disney during her first time visiting Paris for a movie press run.

Because of the current writers’ and actors’ strike, it’s unknown when Zendaya will get the chance to play the villain or embark on another promotional tour, but her fans will undoubtedly be there to cheer her on whenever that time comes.
