Monyetta Shaw, Ne-Yo’s ex-partner, revealed that their relationship struggled partly due to his frequent desire for 3ways.
Earlier this week, Shaw told Haus of Aaron that she and Ne-Yo both “cheated together” by inviting others into their bedroom.
Shaw claimed that initially, she was okay with the 3somes, but then he started asking for them daily.
“He wasn’t ready. We cheated together if that makes sense,” she said. “And then it just wasn’t enough, and I was like, ‘Well, no. I didn’t sign up to do this every day.'”
Shaw, who has two children with the singer, once described herself as more reserved in public but adventurous in the bedroom. However, she noted that her mindset has since changed.
“[I’m] just very multifaceted, and that’s where I was at that time, but it became a problem when you want that, you know, a lot,” she said. “Like, maybe I’ll give you that maybe twice a year…but it was too much.”
She continued: “I was like, ‘If you want that, then you don’t want me.’ I tried to keep it cute and spicy, but it wasn’t enough. But it is what it is.”
After the clip from the video went viral, Shaw began to face backlash from fans who wondered why she’d speak on the subject a decade later while married to a new man.
Shaw responded to fans’ reactions in a video shared on her Instagram account.
“I was just merely answering a question, which is what you do when you go talk to people,” she said.
“It’s no beef, no nothing, I actually talked about my husband as well, but of course that wasn’t in the clickbait,” she added. “I know it’s entertaining but it’s old news. But it’s the truth and it’s part of my story.”
