Due to potential contamination with plastic pieces, ConAgra Brands Inc. is recalling approximately 245,366 pounds of frozen chicken strips.
According to the Food Safety and Inspection Service website, the affected Banquet brand chicken strips were produced on June 20, July 11, and July 17, 2023.
The frozen food packages recalled are 8.9-ounce cartons labeled as “Banquet Chicken Strips Meal” with “Best If Used By” dates of December 11, 2024, January 01, 2025, and January 07, 2025.
The affected lot numbers (5009317120, 5009319220, and 5009319820) can be found on the carton sides. These products were distributed to retail outlets nationwide and sold online, according to the FSIS.
ConAgra informed the FSIS that a consumer had filed a complaint about discovering “plastic in the chicken strip part of the product.” According to the agency, this incident led to an oral injury linked to the product’s consumption.
According to FSIS, the agency suggests that consumers who purchased the frozen items should dispose of them or return them to the store of purchase.
