Despite the challenging environment, Tory Lanez is looking to integrate with the general inmate population.
Lanez’s lawyer, Ceasar McDowell, revealed that Tory wishes to stay in the general inmate population at the new facility after his bond was denied pending his appeal.
According to McDowell, the rapper prefers to be with regular inmates rather than being isolated in a protective wing, where most high-profile inmates go.
Despite receiving special treatment due to his celebrity status in prison, he wants to be treated like a regular inmate. He allegedly doesn’t fear the potential dangers of being in the general population.
Additionally, McDowell says that Lanez is confident he can handle prison life and wants to be in the general inmate population to access more available programs and resources.
However, Lanez is still worried about the stricter communication rules at his new prison, which might limit his contact with loved ones.
Lanez will have restricted contact with the outside world at North Kern State Prison.
For the next 30 days, he will have limited communication with the outside world as he stays in the reception center. After this, his placement in the prison will be determined during inmate orientation.
His legal team is currently working to reverse the bond denial in a higher court.
