Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have reached a temporary custody arrangement regarding their two children, who are at the center of their messy divorce.

Turner recently filed legal documents against her soon-to-be ex-husband, asking a judge to allow the couple’s two daughters, Willa and “DMJ” to return to England with her. However, until a more permanent agreement can be established, both children are to remain in the United States, specifically in New York City.

Their split thus far has been anything but amicable. Turner has accused the singer of refusing to give up their children’s passports. Their daughters have dual citizenship in both the U.K. and the U.S., with their main residence being in England, Turner maintains. Jonas claims the couple were looking to make Miami their permanent home before the split. He has accused the actress of trying to take the children out of the States permanently, limiting his rights to them.

In her claim, Turner stated that Jonas was to return their children to England several days ago, but when he refused, she filed the lawsuit. According to USA Today, Turner made her complaint under the Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction and the International Child Abduction Remedies Act. These acts are typically used to assist parents whose children have been kidnapped internationally by one parent. In his September 5th divorce filing, Jonas requested that he and Turner have “shared parental responsibilities,” and his representatives say Turner using the abduction acts in her lawsuit is “misleading.”

Their next court appearance is scheduled for October 3rd.
