It is no secret that after Aaron Rodgers went down for the New York Jets, there was a void at the Quarterback position. Given that Colin Kaepernick hasn’t played in the NFL for seven years, the league community didn’t view him as a serious option. Many believed it would be a challenge for him to step in and make an immediate impact.
However, the former NFL player, who still has a passion for playing the game, recently wrote a letter to Jets general manager Joe Douglas listing reasons why he’s a good fit to join the team’s practice squad following their loss.
Avid supporter and rapper J. Cole got permission from Kap to post the letter he wrote to the New York Jets. It was shared on Instagram on Tuesday.
“I would be honored and extremely grateful for the opportunity to come in and lead the practice squad,” Kaepernick wrote. “I would do this with the sole mission of getting your defense ready every week.”
The letter’s release coincided with the Jets’ signing of another experienced signal-caller, Trevor Siemian, to their practice squad on Tuesday.
