“The Drew Barrymore Show“ will be reducing its writing staff by three members, as it appears that the writers who were previously on strike have chosen not to rejoin the team.

Sources have indicated that Chelsea White, Cristina Kinon, and Liz Koe have opted not to rejoin the team, even though the WGA strike has concluded. Allegedly, the production is in the process of conducting interviews with new writers who are in compliance with the guild’s requirements to replace them before the show’s premiere on October 16th.

White, Kinon, and Koe were part of a group of writers who protested in support of the WGA. In a September interview, they disclosed that there had been no discussions about their return to the show.

“In April, when we went on hiatus, which was a couple weeks before the strike, at that time it was the idea to return to the show and that was the last conversation that we had with anyone at the show,” White explained.

Additionally, when questioned about the possibility of their return, White replied, “maybe, no comment.”

Barrymore raised eyebrows within the entertainment industry when she initially declared that her talk show would go own despite the writers’ strike in mid-September. In a statement posted on social media, she justified the decision by stating, “To be clear, our talk show actually wrapped on April 20th so we never had to shut down the show. However, I am also making the choice to come back for the first time in this strike for our show, that may have my name on it but this is bigger than just me.”

A few days later, Barrymore returned to social media to offer an apology to the unions. Shortly thereafter, Barrymore made an announcement that the show would, in fact, remain on hiatus until the conclusion of the strike.

“I have listened to everyone, and I am making the decision to pause the show’s premiere until the strike is over. I have no words to express my deepest apologies to anyone I have hurt and, of course, to our incredible team who works on the show and has made it what it is today. We really tried to find our way forward. And I truly hope for a resolution for the entire industry very soon,” Barrymore wrote.”
