An attorney for motorcyclist Cody Heron, the now viral road rager, says there is much more to the story than what social media saw.
To catch everyone up to speed, a video surfaced online that was filmed Sunday, showing Heron and a group of motorcyclists and ATV riders circling Philadelphia’s City Hall. After Heron ran his bike into the side of a Ford Fusion being driven by 23-year-old mother, Nikki Bullock, he hopped off his motorcycle, jumped onto the car, and began stomping on the back windshield. The window shattered, sending glass flying onto Bullock’s two children, ages two and five, in the backseat. Thankfully, they were not hurt. When Bullock exited her vehicle to confront Heron, he shockingly pulled a gun out. Heron was arrested on Wednesday after a sea of tips, including one from his employer, came in. However, his attorney, Justin Capek, claims the police have got it all wrong.
“Our investigation has revealed that it is only a portion of a much lengthier incident that, when viewed in its entirety, casts Mr. Heron in a significantly different light,” Capek shared in a statement.
In the meantime, the District Attorney’s Office has charged Heron with aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime, as well as several charges related to the destruction of the windshield. He also headbutted Bullock at one point, which earned him another charge. Still, Capek is attempting to paint his client as a law-abiding citizen.
“Mr. Heron has never been in trouble a single day in his life. He is lawfully permitted to carry a concealed firearm and works six days a week,” his statement added.
Heron is being held on a $2.5 million bond, though he will be released if he can pay 10% of that amount. As of Thursday evening, he remained behind bars.
