Jada Pinkett-Smith says she wondered why Will Smith reacted so strongly to Chris Rock’s Oscar jokes when they had been separated for quite some time at that point.
During an extended version of her Today interview with Hoda Kotb, Jada explained being initially caught off guard by Will slapping Chris.
“First of all, I’m really shocked because, mind you, I’m not there. We haven’t called each other husband and wife in a long time,” she tells Hoda. When her estranged husband stormed the stage, “I’m really worried for Will because I don’t know what’s going on.” Rock apologized to Jada after the slap.
Among her recent revelations, Jada also revealed that Rock once asked her out on a date when he believed that she and Will were getting a divorce. She also claimed Tupac Shakur proposed to her while he was incarcerated in 1995 for sexual assault.
Meanwhile, fans are wondering how Will feels about Jada’s information. However, she has stated that he supports her book. He released his own self-titled biography in November 2021, where he spoke on feeling some intimidation by Jada’s relationship with Shakur. However, he did not reveal the separation. The “Fresh Prince” star hasn’t spoken out about her recent interviews.
With her spilling so much tea, it seems that many of these instances will be highlighted in her forthcoming memoir, “Worthy.” The book will be released on October 17th.
