United Airlines has announced a change in its operations. The major airline says it will use a new boarding order starting next week.

Under the new order, economy-class passengers who have window seats will board before those with middle and aisle seats on all domestic flights and select international flights.

The company said boarding times have increased up to two minutes since 2019, and it hopes to slim that time back down with the new order, CNBC News reported.

United currently has a boarding process that begins with pre-boarding for travelers with disabilities, active duty members of the military, travelers with children under 2 years old, and United’s top-tier elite frequent flyers — through Group 3. That process will remain the same, according to the memo released to CNBC.

For those passengers assigned to board with Group 4 but with window seats, passengers will go first. Middle seats and then aisle seats will follow. However, the airline noted that customers under the same reservation can board together.
