Tyrese Gibson’s ex-wife, Samantha Lee, is breaking her silence about their tumultuous divorce, which he has spoken about regularly.
The influencer, who frequently highlights her single life on YouTube, granted an interview to the “Hardly Initiated” podcast. There, she admitted that people around her during her marriage to the “Sweet Lady” singer may have pushed her towards a divorce.
“The truth about the matter is that if I had different people in my ear at that time, I would not have made that decision, no. And that’s the truth,” Lee shockingly revealed at the 13:07 mark.
Her admission may be news to fans, but no one is likely more shocked than Tyrese. The “Fast & Furious” actor has said in the past that Lee leaving him took him by surprise. He maintained that he never got a clear answer as to why she filed for divorce.
Lee added that she is an overthinker and may have looked too far into what her partner was lacking at the time instead of the great qualities Tyrese possessed. Sadly, her circle of friends only highlighted these shortcomings.
Lee and Tyrese tied the knot on Valentine’s Day 2017. The estranged couple share a daughter, Soraya, whom they welcomed in 2018. However, in September 2020, she filed for divorce. They’d been together for five years today, and Tyrese has said he never wanted to separate. Lee’s explanation may finally provide Tyrese with answers and, more importantly, closure. Their divorce has yet to be finalized, though the entertainer now has a new girlfriend, Zelie Timothy.
