Jay-Z finally answers the question that has been floating around on social media, “Would you take $500,000 or have lunch with Jay-Z?”
The renowned rap legend joined Gayle King for an interview on CBS Mornings to address the widely debated question circulating among social media users. During the conversation, Hov put an end to the dispute by offering sound business guidance.
“You gotta take the money,” he said. “What I’mma say?”
King then mentioned the underlying principles driving the ongoing debate, suggesting that many individuals believe that the rapper’s insights could help them to independently earn the $500,000. However, Hov said that he would still take the money despite King’s statement because he’s already provided advice through his music.
“Because you got all that in the music for $10.99. That’s a bad deal,” Hov added. “I wouldn’t tell you to cut a bad deal. Take the $500,000, go buy some albums and listen to the albums. It’s all there.”
He continued, “If you piece it together and really listen to the music for the words, for what it is, it’s all there. Everything that I said was going to happen, happened. Everything that I said I wanted to do, I’ve done, and there’s the blueprint. The blueprint, literally, to me and my life and my journey is there already.”
The exact origin of this widely discussed online question remains uncertain, but variations of the query have been seen as far back as 2017. Just last week, a fan brought up the topic to Hov during the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Chargers game. According to the fan, he would also take the cash over dinner with the superstar.
“I’m taking that $500K. I ain’t taking that dinner. I’m taking that $500K. Do you feel me? It’s love, though,” the fan said.
