Jonathan Majors’ ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari will officially face charges for her role in their New York fight earlier this year.
Jabbari told police officers back in March that Majors struck her in the face and strangled her, leaving her with lacerations and bruises. Jabbari also reportedly sustained a broken finger. The strangulation charge against Majors has been dropped. However, the assault charge is still pending. Jabbari is also being charged with assault for striking and scratching Majors. Jabbari will now be forced to return to New York to answer the complaint.
As a result of the domestic violence complaint, Majors has lost several members of his team, as well as several film roles and endorsements. Despite the accusations, the actor has maintained he was the victim.
“From the beginning, we have said Jonathan Majors is innocent and provably the victim here. Mr. Majors met with the NYPD to present them with evidence of what really happened on that night,” Priya Chaudhry previously told The Messenger in August 2023.
Text messages between Majors and Jabbari were released shortly after the incident, where Jabbari asks if Majors is okay. She then writes, “They assured me that you won’t be charged. They said they had to arrest you as per protocol when they saw the injuries on me, and they knew we had a fight.” Some people criticized the release of the messages, claiming they proved Majors was indeed the aggressor. The defense is also leaning heavily on Jabbari’s actions following the fight. She was seen clubbing moments after the alleged assault took place, Insider reported.
For now, Majors has not spoken out directly about the case.
