In the aftermath of their 28-16 defeat to the UCLA Bruins, the Colorado Buffaloes were hit with another blow when they returned to their locker room and discovered that some of their jewelry had gone missing.
Pasadena police confirmed Monday that at least 5 players were robbed of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry in the heist. A video shared on Deion Sanders Jr’s YouTube page, Well Off Media, showed players reacting to the incident (41:49 mark).
The UCLA athletic department said in a statement following the incident that “a report was filed to the Pasadena Police Department following the UCLA-Colorado football game regarding items that were reportedly missing from the Colorado locker room.”
The statement added that the University “is in communication with law enforcement, Rose Bowl Stadium officials and the University of Colorado on the matter.”
It’s worth noting that a similar incident occurred in 2021 when Jackson State experienced a situation where Coach Prime’s jewelry was stolen from his personal bag. Coach Sanders’ assistant caught the perpetrator and it was quickly resolved. Los Angeles has become the wild Wild West, so it’s not a surprise it happened. Let’s hope things get resolved and all stolen items are recovered.
