In a new authorized biography, Tupac Shakur, Tupac’s sister, Sekyiwa Shakur, revealed that her brother also talked about Jada Pinkett Smith just as much as she talks about him.
Sekyiwa addressed Tupac’s friendship with both John Cole and Jada, who were all close friends at the time. Â
“All I remember is John coming over to the house all the time. And nothing else could be talked about but Jada,” she explained to Staci Robinson, the book’s author. “His music changed. This people changed. And Jada came—the entity! The magazine posters had come off his wall, and John’s art went up on his wall. And pictures of Jada.”
Robinson also explored Tupac’s poem “The Omega of My Heart,” which was dedicated to Jada.
“U will never fully understand / How Deeply my Heart Feels 4 u,” the poem read. “U R my Heart in Human Form / a Friend I could never replace.”
As you know, Jada has openly talked about her close bond with Tupac over the years.
Even though they weren’t speaking before his passing due to his lifestyle, she fondly remembers him beyond friendship but denies a romantic connection.
“If there is such a thing as past lives, I definitely think that Pac and I have traveled a few together,” she said. “It was like God made us that way. It was like, look, I’m going to put y’all together, right? Y’all are going to be a dynamic duo. But I’m going to tell you right now, I’m going to make it so y’all are not going to be able to get together ’cause that just wasn’t the purse.”
The authorized biography was published on October 24 and approved by Pac’s mother before her passing in 2016.
