French Montana’s plane was briefly prevented from leaving Colombia after authorities felt that he and his crew may have drugs on board the flight.
The “Pop That” star shared several videos on his social media documenting his ordeal on Instagram. According to Montana, the authorities stopped the plane and brought in the drug-detecting canines to sniff the insides of the aircraft.
“But ya’ll ain’t have to do me like this. I ain’t have to have them dogs in there like that. Know we coke boys, but you ain’t coke boys for that. Streets is so f****d up, they thought I was bringing a big load,” Montana said from the tarmac.
Montana filmed the officers and their dogs on board but didn’t seem too bothered by their presence. His entourage was also relaxing during the ordeal, sitting silently while the officials did their job. After a short while, the aircraft was cleared, and the crew was free to go. While a nerve-wracking series of events, it’s great to see Montana make it out unscathed. Some celebrities have not been as fortunate when interacting with foreign law enforcement.
Britney Griner was arrested in February 2022 after a vape cartridge was found in her luggage at a Moscow airport. In 2019, A$AP Rocky was held in a Swedish jail for several weeks following a fight with a resident there. Luckily, both cases ended with them being freed.
